Create/Edit Cube Dimension: Descriptions

An analytic workspace can support the display in multiple languages of descriptions of cube dimension objects and of attribute values. This panel shows the objects of the cube dimension and the descriptions associated with them. It also shows the languages that the analytic workspace currently supports.

Note:

Adding a language to a cube dimension adds support for the language to all cube dimensions and cubes in the analytic workspace.

To add descriptions in other languages:

On the Attributes panel in the Attribute Properties group, select Attribute Values Are Multilingual.
On the Descriptions panel, click Modify Languages and add the language.

On the Descriptions panel, the field of descriptions now contains a column for the added language.
To add a description of an object of the cube dimension, double-click the appropriate row in the language column and enter the description. For example, if you have added French as a language, and you want to add a description in French for the cube dimension, then in the French column double-click the Description row of the cube dimension and enter a value.

Note:
Add a description for at least one of the cube dimension objects.
To supply attribute values in multiple languages, on the Map pane, map the attribute to the source columns that contain those values.

To remove a language, in the navigation tree right-click the analytic workspace and select Drop Languages. Removing a language removes support for the language from all cube dimensions and cubes in the analytic workspace.
